Missing Girl’s Body found in Great Miami River

From our partners at WKEF: “Troy Ohio Police Department announced Sunday afternoon they have found 14-year-old, Ellie Carder's body, along the Great Miami River in Troy.

According to a Facebook post made at 5:27 p.m. the Miami County Communication Center received a call from a member of the search crew in a kayak on the Great Miami River stating they had found a body in the river.

Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff's Office, Detective and Officers from the Troy Police Department, and Troy Fire Department responded to the scene.

Troy Fire Department recovered the body approximately two miles downstream from the East State Route 41 Bridge, and confirmed it to be 14-year-old Ellie Carder.

A preliminary exam of the body by the coroner's investigation found no obvious signs of trauma.

According to the Facebook post, Ellie's body will be transported to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. Results from the autopsy are usually available in eight to 12 weeks.”
