Sunday, November 11

12:07 p.m. – Theft in progress at Menards, 75 Weller Dr.

Upon arrival, officer observed a male speaking with loss prevention. When asked if he was concealing anything, the male answered “No” and placed a black flashlight in a Menards bag on the bench. During a pat down officer found an unopened charging cord. After stating he forgot about that, the male then removed an FM transmitter from his pocket. The three items totaling $45.97 were recovered. Management did not wish to pursue charges but Bryan Eastman, 47, of Troy, was trespassed from the store.

Tuesday, November 21

4:49 p.m. – Theft at Speedway, 4 Weller Dr.

At approximately 4:07 p.m. a male was reported as stealing 15 packs of Newport 100s valued at $152.40. The clerk had placed the 15 packs in a bag on the counter and when she turned around to get another requested item, the male grabbed the bag and left without paying. Security footage showed he ran around the east side of the building towards Frisch’s parking lot. Officer was unable to locate the male.

Officer notified a detective that the Wapakoneta Police Department had posted an article on WHIO regarding the same person stealing cigarettes from their local Speedway.

Detective spoke with the Wapakoneta PD and the male was identified. After reviewing footage from Tipp and Wapakoneta Speedways, a warrant was requested to arrest Kyle Warner, 39, of Springfield, for theft.

Thursday, November 23

4:46 p.m. – Telecommunication harassment in the 500 block of Barbara Dr.

A male was being confrontational, making veiled and indirect threats toward the RP through Facebook Messenger. Officer explained no charges could be pursued due to the lack of direct threats. RP could consider filing for a protection order.

Officer contacted Springfield PD and requested they contact the male and advise he was trespassed from the Barbara Dr. property and warned for telecommunication harassment.

Sunday, November 26

11:10 a.m. – Recovered stolen property in the 10’s block of Weller Dr.

Officer was notified by Flock Safety of a possible stolen vehicle westbound on Main St. from the I-75 exits. The vehicle with a Tennessee license plate was located in the back of Wendy’s parking lot. Officers used their patrol cars to block the red Mustang in a parking spot. One officer exited his patrol car with his duty weapon drawn and pointed at the suspect while the other officer gave verbal commands for the male to exit the vehicle. Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen by Johnson City, TN PD. The male stated he had borrowed the vehicle from a female so he could visit family in Michigan.

Officer spoke with a Johnson City officer who advised the female reported she had loaned her vehicle but only for the male to fill out a job application. That officer attempted to contact the female only to be told she hadn’t been seen since Thanksgiving and was considered homeless.

Due to the vehicle being confirmed as stolen, the male should have known he had the vehicle outside of the scope of permission, he was placed under arrest.

John Ambrose, 44, of Jackson Center, MI, was charged with receiving stolen property and transported to the Miami County Jail.

Monday, November 27

2:25 a.m. – Disturbance in the 700 block of Cheyenne Pl.

Males had been in a verbal argument regarding one cheating on the other. Both had resided in the apartment for approximately nine months and the officer could not make the male leave as he had established residency. One male stated he wanted to leave and wished to gather his personal belongings. The other male stated he paid for everything and did not want him to take anything. Officer advised the male could take his personal belongings and that everything else would have to be handled in court.

The male was able to gather his personal belongings and left the apartment.

Tuesday, November 28

2:05 p.m. – Disturbance in the 300 block of N. Second St.

Male wished to report he and his wife were not getting along and the time had come for a divorce. There had been no physical violence but he wanted a restraining order. Officer advised him on how to apply for a civil protection order. Officer was also able to answer his questions on residency.

Officer contacted the female by phone since she had left before his arrival. She confirmed they were having marital issues but also stated there had been no physical violence.

6:56 p.m. – Assist citizen in the 2700 block of S. County Rd. 25A.

An older woman approached an officer while on a traffic stop. She had been shopping at Kroger and became lost. She was given directions back to Vandalia but she refused to drive on 25A or I-75. Contact was made with her husband but he had no transportation to pick her up. The woman agreed to follow the officer and he escorted her back to her Vandalia residence.

Wednesday, November 29

8:54 a.m. – Unruly juvenile at Tippecanoe High School, 615 E. Kessler Cowlesville Rd.

An incident between a male and female student happened on a school bus. The administrator will be handling the discipline.

Thursday, November 30

3:15 p.m. – Warrant arrest in the area of S. County Rd. 25A and Stonewood Dr.

Traffic stop initiated on a vehicle with the registered owner showing an active warrant out of Columbus. Warrant was confirmed and the male was taken into custody. Trevez Price, 31, of Troy, was transported to the Miami County Jail where he was incarcerated.

Saturday, December 2

8:12 p.m. – Disturbance in the 400 block of Clover Hill Dr.

Husband and wife had been arguing, nothing physical but it had escalated into him yelling. At one point the male had picked up a toy and hit his son on the back of his head. This caused the two males to physically fight and that was when the female called 911.

Hoa Guo, 52, of Tipp City, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Miami County Jail.
